FOS Emerging Leader
September 15, 2021
I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Randy Heim for his recent promotion to Senior Project Manager for FOS. Randy joined FOS in 2016, after spending almost 15 years overseeing electrical departments, construction crane crews, manufacturing maintenance teams, and safety/environmental compliance. In his new role as a Senior Project Manager, Randy will use his strong management and organizational skills to oversee contract terms, manage field project managers/assessment teams, and exceed client expectations.
When asked how he will make an impact on FOS, Randy said he hopes to strengthen our best practices and operating procedures. He feels that “everything needs to be on a constant feedback loop in order to achieve positive results.” By following this plan of action, Randy will continue to build relationships with our clients, ultimately helping them find the best solutions.
This passion for problem solving doesn’t stop at the office. Randy has been a Softball coach for several years, most recently with the Grand Island Rapids organization. He spends time assisting clinics throughout the winter with the City of Tonawanda, where sixth and seventh graders are prepared for modified softball. Randy also coaches one of his daughters, across two 14U travel teams. He shared that the experience of teaching these young ladies how to properly play the game has shown him the importance of mentorship and leadership skills. Randy believes in a “we is stronger than me attitude,” and strives to enforce the importance of self-accountability. He’s found “in softball there can be weaknesses, but I encourage the players to work on it until it becomes their strength.” Randy carries this mindset from his community to his coworkers.
Back in 2017, a strategic roadmap was designed to go beyond year-over-year business planning to help identify the bigger strategic picture surrounding our firm, employees, and clients. FOS follow four pathways that bring this transformation to life:
Advance innovation as a leader in virtual and built environments.
Embody a deep social conscience.
Celebrate joy and imagination in our culture.
Promote an entrepreneurial spirit throughout the firm.
I truly believe Randy embodies these pathways, and look forward to his continued contributions to FOS and the communities we serve.
