Hats Off To New FPM, Steven Hooks

June 28, 2022

Hats off to Steven Hooks! FOS’s new Field Project Manager! The following announcement is written by FOS President, Joe Cassata:

I am happy to announce that Steven Hooks has accepted the role of Field Project Manager for FOS! Steven has been making an impact at FOS since he joined the team in 2010. Always striving to ensure his next facility condition assessment (FOS’s primary service offering) is better than the last, he is continuously exceeding his daily “step goal” all while improving our processes. In his new role, Steven will provide support and guidance to our multidisciplinary team of assessors – working with internal teams and on-site client partners to identify building escorts/access, existing drawings, coordinating after-hours access, and other necessary project components to enable successful project delivery.

When asked what led him to FOS, Steven replied “The question should be what led FOS to me. My first FOS project was to assist an assessment that was done in the Chicago office. The second assessment was for the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign where we assessed 11 million square feet of academic buildings. Both assessments were successful and led to design work for CannonDesign by these clients. Both assessments were projects that came through the Chicago MEP group. So, it was the success of these projects that led FOS to me.”

When Steven isn’t busy baking the perfect cheesecake, he spends time making weekly visits to a nursing home in his community. Nursing homes don’t exactly have the reputation for being a fun place to visit, but he says, “I look forward to going because we would be the only visitors some of these people would have to talk to.” He leverages his interest in volunteer work to improve how he engages with his community, our clients, and to foster the social desirability of healthful living.

In the years he’s been with FOS, Steven has been a huge asset to me, our team, and our clients. His hard work and wide-ranging talents will help us continue pushing FOS to the next level. Congrats Steven!
