ABOUT FACILITY OPTIMIZATION SOLUTIONS (FOS)

Our story began with a good idea.

Joe Cassata, a licensed architect, has worked with facility owners and managers across North America for more than 30 years. In 2009, he recognized their abundance of challenges: aging buildings, decreasing budgets, and increasing maintenance costs. He saw a need to help this group better identify what they own, what condition their facility assets were in, and how best to use this data to plan for their future. To help support these needs, Facility Optimization Solutions (FOS) was born. For over 15 years, FOS has grown from a small, part-time team to a major, multi-office entity within CannonDesign — one of the largest integrated design firms in the world.

Today, FOS has assessed over 1 billion square feet of physical assets, performed work in every major market sector, and conducted business across the United States and Canada. Since 2021, we have been recognized by World Architecture 100 as #1 in the world for Facility Management Services. Our diverse team of subject matter experts exclusively provide physical asset management consulting services – all backed by industry leading software solutions.
