Juan Lessey Promoted - Architectural Assessor

Hats off to Juan Lessey for his recent promotion to Architectural Assessor! The following announcement is written by FOS President, Joe Cassata:

As FOS continues to grow, we’re excited to offer up advancement opportunities to our internal team. This month, I’m pleased to share that Juan Lessey has been promoted to an Architectural Assessor! Juan joined the firm in November 2021 as Facility Assessment Support, taking responsibility for providing back-end support for project managers and facility assessment team members while handling data collected in the field.

Outside of work, Juan is an active member of his community. As a part of the Coursera Global Translator Community (GTC), a group of learners who translate course video subtitles into more than 60 languages, he helps people around the world access online education. In his new role, Juan will continue utilizing his helpful nature - by joining our field teams to conduct interior and exterior architectural facility condition assessments on various building types.

Originally from Venezuela, Juan received his degree in architecture and began his career learning from his mom who is also an architect. She taught him how to inspect buildings with a designers-eye while gathering useful data to build reports on those properties. Juan says, “My mom taught me to be aware of the variety of skills that professionals, architects, and construction folks can have.” This mentality will help Juan as he partners with our multidisciplinary team to evaluate condition and remaining useful life of buildings and their systems.

The facility assessments FOS provides help organizations better understand the condition of their physical assets so they can create long-term lifecycle plans aimed at serving their communities. Juan feels he’ll make a positive impact in his new role, saying “I’ve trained my visual skills to catch building details in a short amount of time, since during assessments we have to move fast. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, but I hope to continue improving the quality of how we collect data from assessments – if the data is high quality then the reports we provide to the client will also be high quality.”
