Developing A Statewide Assessment Program

FOS of CannonDesign worked with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to develop a state-wide building condition assessment program to standardize facility analysis. The program included the development of checklists, protocols, software tools, and evaluation forms used to construct a five-year capital plan used by NYSED to create the state-wide capital budget for over 700 school districts. This program was implemented by the state for use by A/E firms across the state and completed every five years to inform the budget and funding distributed to each district.
